FAQs

  • Can I run with my dog?
    Yes, but start out in the back of the pack, use a 6′ leash, and please be aware¬†of runners around you. If you have not run with and trained your dog, this isn’t the venue to start teaching.
  • Can I register the day of the run?
    Yes, registration is located at The Granary 17500 Depot Street Morgan Hill, CA 95037. Registration opens up at 7:30 am thru 8:45 am. Note that the registration is not easy to get to when all the roads around it get closed. Also it takes 10 minutes to get to the start line from where you register, allow time to make all the logistics work to enable you to arrive at the start, in time.
  • If I’m a slow runner, say expecting to finish the 5k in over 40 minutes, can I still line up at the front of the starting line?
    No, you will get run over by faster runners!! This year there will be signs of expected finish times for you to line up with so, in theory all the runners around you at the start will be at your pace. Look for them at the start line.
  • Are there water stations along the route?
    Yes, there are 2, one at the start and one at the approximate 1.5 mile mark. The one at the start will be unmanned during the race, the other will have volunteers to help you.
  • If I’m a walker, can I walk with all my friends side by side.
    No, you will block the faster runners and they may get mad. Stay to the outside, especially at the beginning of the race.
  • When do I get my bib number?
    All bibs will be handed out on the day of the run with packet pick-up beginning at 7:30 a.m. There will be separate lines for pre-registration and day of the run registration.
  • Where is the best place to view the race?
    The most exciting is the start/finish line or somewhere along the course. See Course Map.
  • What can I expect if I am hurt and cannot run or walk? Do I get my money back?
    Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON–TRANSFERABLE to another person or another year. If you do not participate you may take the amount of your entry fee as a charitable donation on your income tax return. The Freedom Fest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all our proceeds go to supporting the FF Events.
